Judging

Interested in judging? Here’s the lowdown. ๐Ÿ™‚

Is judging done “blind”?

We used to do “on your honor” judging, but we’ve changed this policy as many of our judges have requested to receive the entries stripped of names and other identifiers. It’s a lot more work on our end, but we do it as a service to those who are helping us.

We also have a community winner every week. ๐Ÿ™‚

What if there are multiple great stories?

Unfortunately, there does have to be just one winner, but we know that some weeks will receive multiple amazing submissions. So, if there any you’d like to nominate for inclusion in the anthology, be sure to say so.

How many runners up, etc., should be awarded each week?

We recommend, although these are guidelines and not hard or fast rules:

2-3 Honorable/Honourable Mentions
1-2 Runners Up
1 Winner
And one favorite line from each story.

If you need to tweak these numbers a little, that’s okay. But please don’t overdo it. Somebody has to win. ๐Ÿ™‚

When are results due by?

Sunday would be great to have the results, if at all possible, so I can have them ready for Monday 12p est (ish). Earlier = better. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for all that you do!
